Taylor Swift Sends Flowers to Congratulate Cardi B

  /  09.26.2017

Taylor Swift is joining the growing list of artists who are celebrating Cardi B, following the Bronx rapper’s historic rise to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with “Bodak Yellow.”

Taking to Instagram, Bardi shared a Boomerang clip of herself with a large box filled with flowers, which apparently came from T-Swift. “Sooo beautiful and lovely,” she wrote. “Thank you @taylorswift for the flowers 💐❤️❤️….and I freaking love your music 🎶”

Cardi dethroned Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do,” which held the No. 1 spot for three weeks prior to “Bodak Yellow.” The song is currently No. 3, behind Post Malone and 21 Savage’s “rockstar.”

In the past, Cardi has praised Swift despite their competitive run for the top spot. “I almost had it, right?” she told “The Breakfast Club.” “I almost had it but that damn Taylor Swift came out of nowhere like Hurricane Irma. That record, you know what? She did her thing.”

Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma, Missy Elliott, DeJ Loaf, Kehlani, Rita Ora, and many others have praised Cardi, who became the second solo female rapper to top the Hot 100 with an unaccompanied track. Azealia Banks, however, has disparaged her achievement, by calling her a “poor man’s Nicki.”

Next up, Cardi is set to release her highly-anticipated debut album, which is tentatively due in October/November.
