New Music: Tory Lanez feat. Future - 'Real Thing'

  /  10.13.2017

After dropping the video for “Shooters,” Tory Lanez balls out with Future on “Real Thing,” the newest release from Memories Don’t Die.

Blending singing with rhyming, Swavey boasts about authenticity and his baller ways over sparse, melodic production. “I be ballin’, need an ESPY,” he raps. “Ask your girlfriend, she my bestie.”

Following Swavey’s proclamation that he doesn’t want it if it’s not the real thing, Hndrxx comes through with a line that some may call a reference to Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson. “Fell in love with a ni**a drinkin’ codeine,” he raps. “How you gon’ fall for a ni**a drinkin’ creatine?”

Before teaming up on “Real Thing,” Pluto and Lanez collaborated on Zoey Dollaz’s “Bad Tings.” Last month, Tory previewed the single, saying, “I can’t wait until this shit drops.”

“Shooters,” “Skrt Skrt,” and “Real Thing” are expected to appear on the Toronto rapper’s forthcoming sophomore album, Memories Don’t Die, which is slated to arrive this year.
