Remy Ma Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison

Remy Ma was sentenced to eight years in prison in the shooting a woman outside a New York City nightclub. The sentence was handed Tuesday to the “Conceited” rapper for assault, weapon possession, and attempted coercion. Remy Ma was teary-eyed as she heard the sentence. She plans to appeal the sentencing.

Correction officials at Rikers Island jail say they called off her weekend wedding to Papoose after the groom showed up with a handcuff key. Her lawyer denies the key could be used to unlock handcuffs. Papoose wasn’t charged. The two still plan to wed.
