Dr. Dre’s 20-year-old son, Andre Young Jr., died from an overdose of heroin and morphine, the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday.

“This case has been closed, it’s been ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication,” coroner spokesman Larry Dietz told the magazine.

Young Jr. was found unresponsive by his mother at their home in Woodland Hills, California, on August 23. She called paramedics, who responded to the scene. After their efforts to revive him failed, he was pronounced dead.

The drug test results had been pending for four months.
