Sean Kingston: 'Rick Ross Is My Big Brother'
The 19-year-old singer looks up to The Boss. “Rick Ross is my big brother. That’s one dude I must say I respect,” Kingston tells staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud. “If I say, ‘Yo Rick Ross, I’m doing this,’ he comes and supports. He’s really like my big brother.”
The “Magnificent” rapper appeared in Kingston’s video for “Fire Burning.” The younger star later returned the favor by making a cameo in Ross’ “Face” video. The two met in Miami where they both live. “When I left Jamaica, I was raised in Miami. I spent a lot of time down there,” says Kingston. “I ran into him a couple times through my cousin who works at a radio station. But when I really became Sean and he heard my music, he was like, ‘Yo, I like what you’re doing, take my number.’ And we started building.”
Despite their 14-year age difference, the heavyset friends hang out together when they’re back home. “When I’m in Miami, I’m over at his house. We play basketball together. I love his music. I bought two copies of his album Deeper Than Rap. It’s that type of relationship.”
Sean Kingston’s sophomore album Tomorrow arrives in stores today, featuring the hit singles “Fire Burning” and “Face Drop.”
