50 Cent Hits the Studio with Lil' Kim, Akon, & Busta Rhymes
50 Cent got a little help from his friends last night while recording his upcoming album, tweeting up a storm from the studio. During the late-night session, Fiddy posted pictures of him and Lil’ Kim, Akon, Swizz Beatz, Busta Rhymes, Lloyd Banks, and Ryan Leslie, all of whom stopped by to put in work.
“[M]an its 4:30 in the morning I’m still working on my album it has to be the best I just gotta get back on my shit,” tweeted the self-proclaimed “Twitter addict.”
Fiddy previously explained that the album, which features production from newer beatsmiths, is heading in a more soulful direction, with classic R&B playing a heavy influence in the overall aesthetic.
“It’s still got a soulful vibe to it and that’s why I called it Black Magic,” he told staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud. “I had some Marvin Gaye-inspired stuff, some things that content-wise would feel like something Curtis Mayfield would do from my perspective, and just the choices of how the cadences on the records were like performance music that they did in the past. It feels brand new.”
No release date has been set for the rapper’s fifth studio album, the follow-up to last year’s Before I Self-Destruct.
