Missy Elliott

Though Timbaland didn’t include longtime collaborator Missy Elliott on his most recent release Shock Value II, that didn’t mean it was the end of their professional relationship. In fact, Timbo revealed that he rushed the album out and didn’t have enough time to balance the pop with the urban side, rewarding his Twitter followers with an unreleased song by Missy as an apology.

On the buzzing “Swat Dat Fly,” Miss E. spits over a wobbly futuristic beat, accented by electronic flourishes and jungle drums. “Don’t come around here, you don’t want no problems/ This the kind of beat the biters want to borrow/ Superman ain’t even got this kind of power/ To make the hottest rapper’s rap sound wack and sour,” she raps on the track. Listen to the unreleased tune below.
