Nicki Minaj Performs 'Starships' on 'American Idol'
Nicki Minaj crashed “American Idol” in her pink spaceship on Thursday’s results show. Dressed in a mermaid-inspired outfit and curly blonde wig, the captain of the Barbz activated her super powers while performing her RedOne-produced smash “Starships” for the first time on television.
Following her playful performance, the Young Money diva expressed her desire to come back and guest judge the contestants. “J.Lo, can you scoot over a little bit and let me get up there?” she asked Jennifer Lopez, who jokingly told her, “I don’t know if there’s room for both of us up here.”
Nicki has a busy week ahead as she gets ready to launch her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, in stores Tuesday. She will appear at Saturday’s Kids’ Choice Awards and perform April 6 on the “Today” show.
