Beyoncé and Ban Ki-moon

Before she goes in front of the lens to shoot the live performance video for “I Was Here” today, Beyoncé paid a visit to the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York on Thursday. Dressed in a white blazer and oversized gold earrings, the 30-year-old singer smiled as she met with Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Beyoncé has teamed up with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations to launch a global campaign to honor World Humanitarian Day and encourage people worldwide to get involved by helping others.

She will film the video for the Diane Warren-penned ballad “I Was Here” in front of a live audience at the UN General Assembly Hall. It will be released globally on World Humanitarian Day, August 19.
