Drake to Perform at MTV VMAs

Drake is headed to Brooklyn. The Canadian rapper has been added to the lineup for this weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Drizzy will take the stage at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Sunday, Aug. 25, to perform his anthem “Started From the Bottom” for the first time on live television.

The video for the song, which will appear on his upcoming album Nothing Was the Same, is nominated for two VMAs including Best Hip Hop Video and Best Direction.

“Excited to announce I’ll be performing at the 2013 @MTV VMA’s!!! #Brooklyn #OVO #Started #NeedAKawsTrophy,” tweeted Drake.

He joins previously announced performers including Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus, and Robin Thicke.

DJ Cassidy will man the turntables, while A$AP Rocky, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Emeli Sandé are set to present Moonmen.
