Solange Talks Nas Obsession, Saint Records, & Beyoncé

Solange reunited with her “Johnson Family Vacation” co-star Bow Wow during her visit to “106 & Park” on Wednesday. In addition to premiering the video for “Lovers in the Parking Lot,” she spoke about her EP True and launching her label Saint Records.

She also revealed that she has a new project dropping in November. “Everyone that’s a part of it, I really consider the new school, the new age innovators of music,” she said.

During her visit to Hot 97, she gushed about her love for Nas and how she was suspended from school because of a “God’s Son” photo she had in her locker.

Before Beyoncé married Jay Z, Solo recalled showing him her collection of Nas CDs. “His nickname for me was Private School Thug,” she said.

The conversation eventually turned to her superstar sister. “My sister’s mad regular too. Obviously to a certain extent, life can’t allow her to do that,” she said.

She was scared for Beyoncé after her recent run-ins with fans at her shows. “As a family member, it’s scary to watch that,” she said.

So how would she have reacted to the fan that slapped B’s butt? “That’s taking it too far. He would’ve got slapped back.”
