Faith Evans Covers J. Cole's 'Be Free' at 'Black Girls Rock!'

  /  04.06.2015

There were many amazing performances at BET’s “Black Girls Rock!” on Sunday, but Faith Evans stirred up the most emotions. The First Lady of R&B performed a soulful cover of J. Cole’s Ferguson tribute “Be Free.”

Images of protesters with “Black Lives Matter” signs flashed on the screens behind her as she belted out the emotional song, while First Lady Michelle Obama and a teary-eyed Sheila E. looked on.

Faith’s rousing set earned praise from Cole himself, who tweeted, “Faith Evans. We feel you. Beautiful.”
