Video: Jhené Aiko - 'Eternal Sunshine'

  /  04.06.2015

Art imitates life in the powerful and somber video for Jhené Aiko’s “Eternal Sunshine,” the Key Wane-produced track off her debut album Souled Out. The L.A. songstress reflects on a near-death experience she had in 2013 when she was in a car accident along with her daughter Namiko, sister Miyoko, and Namiko’s father O’Ryan.

Her face appears throughout the entire video while in the background we see the aftermath of an accident with flashback clips from her childhood, her daughter, and her brother Miyagi, who died of cancer in 2012.

“All of the good things,” she sings while the crash unfolds behind her.

She dedicates the Jay Ahn-directed clip to her late brother, writing, “To #4 from #5, you are my eternal sunshine.”
