Kanye West Performs at TIME 100 Gala
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian joined power players at the TIME 100 gala celebrating the most influential people in the world in New York on Tuesday. The dashing couple mingled with world leaders, business moguls, and Hollywood A-listers including Martha Stewart, Lee Daniels, and Bradley Cooper.
But Kim was most excited to meet Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. “They are seriously my fave couple & have been since high school! It made my night! #IFannedOut,” she tweeted.
Kanye graces one of five covers for TIME. “I don’t care about having a legacy, I don’t care about being remembered,” he told the magazine. “The most important thing to me is while I’m here, what can we do for each other to make life easier, make life doper for our kids as they grow?”
Flanked by shirtless men covered in chalk, Yeezus took the stage for a 20-minute set. While bathed in an orange-yellow light, he entered to James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” before launching into “All Day,” which led to his Yeezus tracks “Black Skinhead,” “New Slaves,” and “Blood on the Leaves.”
He continued with “Runaway” and “Only One,” followed by “Good Life” and “Gold Digger,” on which he invited crowd participation. The room of dignitaries was on its feet by the time he closed with “Touch the Sky.”
