Report: Drake in Talks with Apple for $19 Million Deal

  /  06.01.2015

Drake is demanding big dollars from Apple. The hip-hop superstar is reportedly in talks with the tech giant to sign a $19 million deal to be a guest DJ for iTunes Radio, among other things.

According to the New York Post, Drake is just one of the artists Apple hopes to land for its $10-a-month streaming service, rumored to be titled Apple Music.

Pharrell Williams and David Guetta are reportedly also in talks to serve as guest DJs for the revamped iTunes Radio.

Drake, along with Beyoncé, Pharrell, and Katy Perry, was one of the first to receive a gold Edition Apple Watch, which he showed off during rehearsals for Coachella in April.

Apple Music will combine the best of Pandora, Spotify, and YouTube into one service. There will reportedly be streaming music and video, artist pages, a YouTube-style sharing section called Apple Connect, and a reworked version of iTunes Radio.

Apple is expected to announce the new service during its Worldwide Developers Conference on June 8 in San Francisco.
