New Mixtape: DJ Mustard - '10 Summers: The Mixtape, Volume 1’

  /  07.23.2015

Summer is in full swing, which means one thing—DJ Mustard has plans for your eardrums. The L.A. hitmaker has just released Volume 1 of his mixtape, 10 Summers, on his label of the same name.

The label’s stated goal is to own the airwaves every summer for the next 10 years. The 17-track collection makes a strong case—Mustard has rounded up a who’s who of West Coast rappers, both established and up-and-coming.

Frequent collaborators like Dom Kennedy, Ty Dolla $ign, The Game, Justine Skye, IamSu!, and TeeFLii all make appearances over Mustard’s stripped-down heat. New faces like RJ, Choice, and buzzing Vallejo MC Nef the Pharaoh also guest. Mustard has his ears to the streets, and he’s not afraid to give young artists a chance alongside heavyweights.

“This mixtape’s overall feeling is just gangsta—I’m doing this for the streets,” said Mustard. “10 Summers isn’t just a label—it’s a lifestyle.”

You can catch Mustard live at festivals this summer including HARD Fest, Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, Made in America, and Lollapalooza.
