New Music: Busta Rhymes - 'Master Race' (Prod. by Pharrell)

  /  09.28.2015

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard new music from Busta Rhymes. His long-rumored album ELE 2 was supposed to come out on Cash Money, and he dropped a Nicki Minaj-assisted single from it called “#Twerkit” back in 2013.

Then he split from Cash Money, so the album never materialized. Now, though, it seems as if it may finally emerge.

Appearing on Pharrell Williams’ Beats 1 radio show OTHERtone on Sunday, he shared a Pharrell-produced song called “Master Race” (via HHNM). In patois (Busta’s parents are Jamaican), he goes in over a beat built on droning Eastern instrumentation that recalls early ’00s-era Timbaland.

Though they didn’t discuss the song’s provenance, expect this to get a release sometime in the near future.
