Tinashe Covers Bleachers' 'I Wanna Get Better'

  /  09.28.2015

Here’s a collaboration out of left field. Tinashe goes head to head with Bleachers, the side project of fun lead guitarist Jack Antonoff, on a cover of the band’s “I Wanna Get Better.” The “2 On” singer leaves behind slinky R&B for sunnier pastures, unleashing anthemic choruses over a blend of 808 claps and synth-pop guitar chords. It’s jarring at first, but by the end you can’t avoid the inescapable groove.

Tinashe’s version comes off Terrible Thrills, Vol. 2, an all-female reimagining of Bleachers’ debut Strange Desire. The album, which also features Charli XCX, Sia, MØ, and Carly Rae Jepsen, is now available for free download via Google Play.

Tinashe is currently on tour in Brazil with Katy Perry and is gearing up to release her sophomore album Joyride in November.
