Kanye West Teams with Mumford & Sons, Ellie Goulding for 'Metamorphoses' Album

  /  03.15.2016

Want to collaborate with Kanye West? That dream could become a reality through Metamorphoses, a 12-track album led by Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett and Global Citizen co-founder/CEO Hugh Evans.

Yeezy, Ellie Goulding, and The National are among the acts contributing to the global project, which will pull lyrics from fan entries of “personal lyrics, poems, stories, reflections, and thoughts.” The album, due in the fall, aims to raise awareness for the fight against extreme poverty and inequality around the world.

Metamorphoses has the potential to break down our preconceptions of the voices of creativity, what different people around the world are thinking and who has the right to be heard,” said Lovett. “In my own life, I’ve experienced people trying to define me and put me in boxes and categories. Through collaboration we can show people how those lines can be blurred and are ultimately redundant.

“The artists involved in this project are some of the most genuine artists the world has to offer,” he continued. “Artists like Kanye West, and The National are doing something globally important that is touching people down to their DNA. And these masterfully creative people are going to be interpreting incredible submissions from people across the globe.”

Fans can submit lyrics through March 31 by visiting Global Citizen.

Kanye West’s 2016 keeps getting busier. Aside from Metamorphoses, the rapper has two more albums planned for this year, and a Clippers mascot to redesign.
