New Music: Willow Smith - 'twentyfortyeight 2.0'

  /  05.18.2016

Willow Smith teams up with actor Michael Cera on her latest release “twentyfortyeight 2.0.”

Produced by the Superbad star, the atmospheric song features a poetic monologue from the youngest Smith. “I am kinda seeing a yellowish hue,” she says on the dream-like track. “Its shape is kind of nebulous. It’s warm. It definitely encompasses me and all that is.”

Willow also praised Cera on Twitter and shouted out his 2009 film Youth in Revolt.

Willow’s brother Jaden followed this up by asking Cera to help him finish crafting his new album.

Although it may be surprising to fans of his movies, Cera is no stranger to music. In fact, he sang “Anyone Else But You” with Ellen Page as part of the Juno soundtrack in 2007. Then, in 2014, Cera released a full album titled True That, which featured tracks like “Clay Pigeons,” “Ruth,” and “Of a Thursday.”

Listen to the Cera-produced “twentyfortyeight 2.0” below and get ready for a potential Jaden collaboration.
