New Music: Young M.A. feat. French Montana - 'Ooouuu (Remix)'

  /  08.21.2016

French Montana makes ’em say “Ooouuu” on a brand new remix to Young M.A.’s buzzworthy single. The Coke Boy, who recently delayed his MC4 album release, jumps on the track to dish about rumored romances.

“Watching Love & Basketball,” he raps. “Sanaa next to me / Ooouuu / And a model next to me / Call her Santiago, I call her Stephanie.”

In the last year, Montana has been linked to several women, including Love & Basketball star Sanaa Lathan and “Lip Service” co-host/model Stephanie Santiago.

The lyric is a play on a similar line in the original, which also appears on the remix. “Every time I’m out, why she stressing me?” raps M.A. “You call her Stephanie? I call her Headphanie.”

Recently, M.A. spoke with Genius about the song’s lyrics. “Stephanie is such a common name,” she explained. “There’s a lot of women in the world named Stephanie so it goes. A lot of people named Stephanie will be like, ‘Why did she have to come at me like that!?’ That’s the new Becky now.”

During the interview, she also addressed comparisons to Bobby Shmurda. “When I made the song, my intentions weren’t [to sound] like Bobby Shmurda at all,” she said. “The beat is that type of BPM, it’s that feel. Now that Shmurda came out with that record, any song with that type of beat makes you do that dance! I want people to have that feel again because that was a big record.”
