Kendrick Lamar Bids Farewell to President Obama

King Kendrick bids farewell to President Obama.

Early Friday (Jan. 20), before Obama vacated the White House for a final time as Commander-in-Chief, K-Dot wrote a brief goodbye note via Twitter.

“We really gonna miss you champ,” he told POTUS. “The good you’ve done & opportunity’s you’ve given. Truly never know what we got til its gone. Thank u.”

Lamar has a personal connection with the history-making president. In 2015, Obama called Dot’s “How Much a Dollar Cost” his favorite song of the year. The TDE rhymer also met with Obama at the White House for an in-depth discussion about the My Brother’s Keeper initiative.

Last year, along with Janelle Monáe, Kendrick was also tapped as a performer for the White House’s Fourth of July concert.

Kendrick isn’t the only one saying goodbye to Obama, of course. Jeezy recently posted a video of himself and Jay Z performing “My President,” a song made to honor Obama in 2008. T.I. would later repost the same vid.

Rihanna posted a throwback photo of the 44th President of the United States along with a somber caption: “worst breakup ever.”
