New Music: Raekwon feat. Lil Wayne - 'My Corner'

  /  03.09.2017

Wu-Tang meets Young Money as Raekwon and Lil Wayne join forces on “My Corner,” a gritty collaboration off The Chef’s forthcoming album, The Wild. Over a hard-hitting beat, the hip-hop vets trade verses filled with street knowledge and street-based punchlines.

“One for the money,” raps Tunechi. “Nothin’ after that shit / I’m getting foreign money / Money talks with an accent.”

The Wu-Tang Clan legend, who opens and closes the track, also pops up with his own reflections. “I seen it all and done it all,” he raps. “And still doing it.”

Rae spoke about the collaboration with Rolling Stone, praising Weezy’s skills on the mic.

“Wayne is a charismatic individual and his flows are dumb delightful,” he said. “I studied him way back and appreciated the opportunity to trade bars with him. I always heard his voice on this and I was very pleased hearing him tap dance on a different style of production. ‘My Corner’ is a flashback to them good ol’ terrible blocks and we take you back to all black outfits. This record must be played at high volume.”

Due March 24, Rae’s seventh album The Wild also features the G-Eazy collaboration “Purple Brick Road.”
