The Alchemist Drops Mobb Deep Collaboration 'Try My Hand'

  /  07.22.2017

A month after Prodigy’s death, longtime collaborator The Alchemist releases a previously-unheard Mobb Deep collaboration, “Try My Hand.”

Released as part of A-L-C’s The Good Book, Vol. 2 collaborative project with Budgie, “Try My Hand” allows P to rap about his legendary status in the game.

“I got the best of all time verse,” he boasts. “My shit quotable / Remarkable rap, I stand out.” Later, he addresses his bothersome haters: “You’re like a comment on IG, nobody cares / Crawl back under that rock, the giants is here.”

Prodigy’s death shocked fans and fellow artists last month, when he passed away in Las Vegas. The rapper, who’s battled sickle cell anemia for most of his life, was honored by the likes of Havoc, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and many more.

The Alchemist collaborated with Prodigy on a slew of projects, including their joint efforts Return of the Mac and Albert Einstein. Earlier this month, he tweeted: “P will never die!” Today, he shared “Try My Hand” and added: “One last time.”

Out now, The Good Book, Vol. 2 features collaborations with Royce 5’9″, Evidence, Westside Gunn & Conway, Mayhem Lauren, Action Bronson, Big Body Bes, and Your Old Droog.
