SZA Performs 'Normal Girl' at 'Black Girls Rock!'

  /  08.23.2017

Fresh off the launch of her “Ctrl Tour,” SZA took the stage for a stunning performance of “Normal Girl” at BET’s “Black Girls Rock!,” which aired Tuesday night (Aug. 22).

Backed by a guitarist and giant letters that spelled out the title of her debut album, the TDE songstress belted out the anthem for a crowd that included Maxwell, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and “Insecure” star Issa Rae. “Normal girl,” she sang. “Oh, I wish I was a normal girl.”

Rocking a trench coat and platform boots, SZA ended the performance by providing a message of empowerment. “Black girls rock,” she said. “Good evening and God bless you.”

Solana started her “Ctrl Tour” on Sunday (Aug. 20), after postponing three shows due to undisclosed health issues. In between dates, SZA will also join Bryson Tiller on his “Set It Off Tour” through Europe.
