Future and Cher Team Up in Gap Campaign

  /  09.13.2017

Future and Cher have used Auto-Tune in different ways throughout their careers. Now, the unlikely duo is harmonizing together as part of Gap’s “Meet Me in the Gap” fall campaign.

Wearing some of Gap’s latest threads in the X-directed clip, the pop icon and rap superstar sits down on white steps to cover Sly and the Family Stone’s “Everyday People.” Cher handles a bulk of the singing, while HNDRXX provides ad-libs. In the end, he also drops some of his melodic flair to round out the ad.

“When Gap said they wanted to team me up with a young artist I knew it would be really beautiful,” Cher told People. “We had a blast together.”

It was particularly meaningful for Pluto, whose three-year-old son Future Zahir starred in a Gap Kids ad. “It’s part of my DNA, growing up wearing Gap, and now to see my son wearing it, and in a campaign ties the whole family together,” he said. “They have something for every age, every person in a family.”

HNDRXX, who plans on saving the leather jacket he wore in the campaign for his son, also gushed about working with Cher. “It was cool to work with someone who is in the industry but has such a different background and life from me,” he said. “Our love for music really connected us. She’s a true performer and a legend.”
