New Music: Marc E. Bassy feat. Kehlani - 'Made Love First'

After unveiling her spooky “Touch” video, Kehlani reunites with Marc E. Bassy on “Made Love First,” a cut off the latter’s new album Gossip Columns.

Over R&B production, the Bay Area crooner sings about how sex may have ruined a relationship. “I wish we didn’t make love first,” he harmonizes. “You know that tore apart everything from the start.”

Holding nothing back, Lil Lani comes through with similar sentiments and some raunchy lines. “Before you knew my heart, you knew the handles on my ass and thighs,” she sings. “Seen me with no makeup, with the sleepy still up in my eyes.”

Released on Friday, Gossip Columns features G-Eazy (“So Simple”), KYLE (“Plot Twist”), YG (“Westside”), and Hailee Steinfeld (“Plot Twist (Remix)”). In the past, Marc also collaborated with Lani on “Lock It Up” off 2014’s Only the Poets Mixtape (Vol. 1).

Bassy recently spoke about collaborating with the “Honey” hitmaker. “I usually primarily work with just a few people, and the Kehlanis and G-Eazys,” he told iHeartRadio. “I’m from the Bay Area, so a lot of work on my album is done by my fellow Bay Area artists. It’s kind of like a homegrown situation.”
