Jaden Smith Announces New Album 'ERYS'

  /  12.29.2017

Jaden Smith has big plans for 2018. The rapper is set to follow his debut album SYRE: A Beautiful Confusion with a deluxe acapella edition and a new project, ERYS.

Taking to social media on Thursday (Dec. 28), the 19-year-old revealed that a “Full Acapella Bonus Album” will be “Coming Next Year Along With ERYS.”

Earlier this month, he confirmed that his sophomore album would be called ERYS.

SYRE, which took three years to make, debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 earlier this month. The 17-track project features appearances from A$AP Rocky (“Breakfast”) and Raury (“Falcon”), plus songs like “Batman,” “Watch Me,” and “Lost Boy.”

In November, Jaden revealed how the album title came to be and why it’s so meaningful to him. “SYRE really just came to me one day,” he told Complex. “I didn’t know what I was going to call the album, but one day it really really came. I don’t know what happened. It was like a switch–from one second to another, my whole life switched. I realized that Syre was the answer, what I had to move forward with. People love to just talk about me by name and say, ‘Oh, Jaden Smith this, Jaden Smith that.’ It’s time for a new awakening and a new consciousness. Anybody who thinks they know me, this album is something completely different from what they think.”
