Joey Bada$$ Says He Ghostwrote Post Malone's 'rockstar'

  /  12.29.2017

Post Malone’s 21 Savage-assisted “rockstar” has been one of the year’s biggest hits, but it turns out the song has an interesting backstory that includes T-Pain and Joey Bada$$.

Earlier this week, an unauthorized version of the song leaked featuring Teddy P and Jozif Badmon. While many believed it would be the official remix, Pain explained that it was actually the genesis.

“That’s the original,” he tweeted. “They took me off. And put 21 on. Me and Joey had it first.”

Bada$$ co-signed the tweet, adding: “This is facts… I actually co-wrote the song w post 🙂 quietly got my first #1 off that 💰💰💰 more ghostwriting in 2018.”

“rockstar” is expected to appear on Post’s forthcoming album Beerbongs & Bentleys, which is due at some point next year. He has yet to address the ghostwriting claims.

Posty earned his biggest song to date with “rockstar,” which spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
