New Music: The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar - 'Pray for Me'

  /  02.01.2018

XO meets TDE. Following their Starboy collaboration “Sidewalks,” The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar reunite on “Pray for Me” off Black Panther: The Album.

Over the cinematic production, courtesy of Matt Schaeffer, Cardo, Cubeatz, and Sounwave, The Weeknd takes the lead. “Who gon’ pray for me? Take my pain for me? Save my soul for me? ‘Cause I’m alone you see,” he sings before Kendrick swoops in with a heroic verse: “I fight pain and hurricanes / Today I wept / I’m tryna fight back tears / Flood on my doorsteps.”

Curated and produced by Lamar, TDE, and Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, the star-studded companion to Marvel’s highly-anticipated superhero film will be released digitally on Feb. 9 featuring Future, ScHoolboy Q, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Khalid, Swae Lee, Vince Staples, and more.

The Ryan Coogler-directed film, which stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Lupita Nyong’o, hits theaters Feb. 16.
