A$AP Rocky Says New Album Is Done
Flacko season is coming. Hot off three singles, A$AP Rocky says he’s done making his next album, the follow-up to 2015’s At.Long.Last.A$AP.
During a show in Berlin, the Harlem rapper revealed the news to roaring applause from fans (via HHNM). “A lot of y’all don’t know,” he said, “but the only reason I came to Berlin was to finish my album and I just did.”
Rocky wasn’t just working on his new album while in Berlin. During his overseas trip, Flacko also found time to link up with Kanye West and Dave Chappelle, and teased what could be an AWGE x Needles collaboration.
Jodye has yet to release the title of his new album, which is rumored to be called Testing or Dummie. Last week, he released three songs in the form of “5IVE $TAR$,” “Above,” and “Money Bags Freestyle.” It is unclear whether they will appear on his album.
Last year, Flacko opened up about the experimental project. “My new album is really about testing new sounds,” he said. “People are scared to test new sounds, so they go with what’s current ’cause it’s the easy thing to do. The top 100 songs sound a certain way. People cater more to that because it’s a bigger demographic behind that, or it’s a guaranteed demographic behind that. I prefer to experiment and have my crowd grow with me and to reach new crowds. I don’t just rap-I actually make music. That’s why it takes time. These sonics represent me.”
