Ol' Dirty Bastard Estate to Launch 'Dirty Coin' Cryptocurrency

  /  03.06.2018

From “Got Your Money” to cryptocurrency. The Ol’ Dirty Bastard Estate is teaming up with Link Media Partners, a business development and marketing company, to develop “Dirty Coin,” an approved cryptocurrency.

Dirty Coin, which will carry the symbol ODB, will be a token on the TAO blockchain network and traded through the AltMarket exchange once it goes live. AltMarket is an exclusive partner to Link Media.

According to the announcement, the cryptocurrency will be used to fund ODB’s son Young Dirty Bastard’s music career. He is currently working on his debut album, which is expected to arrive in the fall. This year, he is also slated to tour with Digital Underground.

“Bitcoin is the future of money and all the fans want a part of the future of Ol’ Dirty Bastard,” said YDB. “In the past, dad’s music was ahead of its time, so it makes sense that he would be ahead of the technology of money now.”

Bryce Weiner, CEO of AltMarket added: “Music thrives creatively and financially when it’s in the hands of the artist themselves. By removing the price tag of experimentation, we’re able to deliver for both the artist and their fans.”

Young Dirty spoke with CoinDesk about Dirty Coin, which will allow fans to have exclusive access to shows and merch. “If fans basically bought a Dirty Coin before the concert, they have a better chance of getting in, probably for the price of nothing,” he said. “So it’s a big opportunity for our fans.”
