  /  03.29.2018

Tyler, the Creator surprises fans with a brand new song and video called “OKRA.”

Over bass-heavy production, the Odd Future frontman raps about how he has “bucks in banks like Yayo” and how he’s spending his hard-earned money. “Financial advisor buggin’,” he raps. “Flower Boy is buzzin’ / Grammy-nominated, tell your cousin ain’t nobody fuckin’ with him.”

The Creator explained the new release on Twitter. “back in jan i made a song on some rap shit before tour just talking,” he wrote. “and like 4 5 days ago i was like yo man i should shoot something to this and just put it out for fun and move on with my life or it’ll sit on my hard drive like alot of other things.”

He also said this is a one-off. “i will promote this song for the next 5 days, then continue to live a normal life,” he added. “thank you, holla.”

The video features multiple scenes. It starts out with Tyler in front of a tree, before he rides bikes, does donuts, and hangs out with A$AP Rocky. In between the creative cuts and side-by-side clips, there’s even a seizure warning to look out for.

Up next, Tyler is heading out on a festival run. His itinerary includes Coachella, Sasquatch, Soundset, Primavera, and also Lollapalooza, among others.
