Video: Miguel feat. J. Cole - 'Come Through and Chill'

  /  04.25.2018

After tapping Kevin Hart for “Kevin’s Heart,” J. Cole teams up with Miguel in the video for “Come Through and Chill,” the latest single off the crooner’s War & Leisure album.

Directed by Kevin Calero, the clip is a behind-the-scenes look at a sultry video set. Cole and Miguel speak into pay phones while dancers vibe out to the Salaam Remi-produced vibes.

While standing on a stage, Cole offers political commentary. “Know you’ve been on my mind like Kaepernick kneelin’ / Or police killings, or Trump sayin’ slick shit,” he raps. “Manipulatin’ poor white folks because they ignant / Blind to the struggles of the ones that got the pigment / Lately I’ve been stressin’ ’cause it seems so malignant.”

In between those performance shots, sensual dance sequences, and behind-the-curtains footage, Miguel finds himself in a love triangle. After chilling on a bed and sitting in front of a stage, he closes out the clip with a threesome.

“Come Through and Chill” is the latest single from Miguel’s War & Leisure LP. The song first dropped in 2016 before coming back with verses from Cole last year.

Miguel previously praised his “Chill” collaborator. “He’s good energy,” he said at the time. “I think that’s one of things that as fans of music, we really care when someone can capture our energy and take what they’re feeling and translate it. He’s always been exceptional at that. And so when he comes on, as like you said, when I first heard his verse too, I was like see. And then what he’s saying is just spot on. I think that’s what it is. Beyond music, I fuck with Cole, he’s fucking with me. We’re friends on the outside of this. Yeah. It’s an honor to have him as a friend, not only in music, but in general.”
