Met Gala 2018: Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, & Migos

It was a heavenly Met Monday in New York City. The stars aligned once again for fashion’s biggest night, the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit Gala, on Monday (May 7).

Co-hosted by Rihanna, Amal Clooney, and Donatella Versace, this year’s theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” focused on the divine. The stars certainly didn’t disappoint with some heavenly choices.

Rihanna once again ruled the carpet, bodying the theme in a bejeweled mini dress and papal mitre, which one Twitter user described as “slutty Pope realness.”

SZA stunned in her Met Gala debut. She showed up and showed out in a halo-like crown and gorgeous Versace ruffled gown. Nicki Minaj, who took the opportunity to announce her new album Queen, was ravishing in a red Oscar de La Renta gown and cross headpiece. Mom-to-be Cardi B showed off her baby bump in a bejeweled Moschino creation with headdress, while Zendaya channeled Joan of Arc in chainmail.

2 Chainz showed up in Versace, but his big proposal outshined his dapper outfit. The “Proud” rapper got down on one knee and proposed to his longtime partner Kesha Ward in the middle of the carpet. The couple has three children together—Heaven, Harmony, and Halo.

Versace, Versace, Versace. In addition to 2 Chainz and SZA, Migos’ Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff all rocked the designer’s elaborately-adorned suits.
