Drake's 'Scorpion' Breaks One-Week U.S. Streaming Record in Three Days

  /  07.03.2018

In just three days, Drake’s Scorpion has shattered the U.S. one-week streaming record for an album.

According to Billboard, the 25-track set was streamed over 435 million times in the U.S. from June 29 through July 1.

The Canadian rapper bests the previous record held by Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys, which earned 431.3 million streams over seven days during the week ending May 3.

Scorpion could surpass 700 million streams in the U.S. by the end of the tracking week on July 5, according to industry forecasters.

The album is set to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with an estimated 700,000 in equivalent album units, marking the biggest week for an album in 2018 and the largest first week since Taylor Swift’s Reputation in November (1.2 million).

Scorpion is also on track to become Drake’s eighth consecutive No. 1. All seven of his previous full-length albums have debuted at No. 1.
