Takeoff Readies Solo Debut 'The Last Rocket'

With Quavo out the gate, Takeoff is next to bat.

The youngest member of Migos revealed details surrounding his highly-anticipated solo debut The Last Rocket during a listening session for media and industry tastemakers at L.A.’s Record Plant on Tuesday (Oct. 23).

Fans won’t have to wait long. According to Billboard, who was in attendance, the album is due Nov. 2 and will contain at least 10 tracks, with contributions from Quavo, DJ Durel, and Cassius Jay (Cardi B’s “Drip”).

Takeoff was in attendance along with Quality Control co-founders Pierre “P” Thomas and Kevin “Coach K” Lee. “Takeoff is a man of small words, he usually lets the music speak for itself,” said Thomas.

One of the standout tracks is a “retro ’80s/’90s” song called “Infatuation,” which caters to the ladies and features a vocalist on the catchy hook (“I got to get close to you baby right now”).

Takeoff is the second member of Migos to go solo. Quavo released his album Quavo Huncho earlier this month, while Offset’s debut is expected soon. Additionally, Migos is readying Culture III for an early 2019 release.
