  /  12.04.2018

Drake is closing out the year with more wins.

The 6 God has been named Spotify’s most streamed artist of 2018 globally. With 8.2 billion streams in 2018 alone, the Canadian rapper is also the most streamed Spotify artist of all time. Scorpion and “God’s Plan” were the most streamed album and song of 2018.

Following Drake, Post Malone, XXXTentacion, J Balvin, and Ed Sheeran round out the top 5 list of most streamed artists in the world, while in the U.S., the honors go to Drake, Malone, XXXTentacion, Travis Scott, and Khalid.

Ariana Grande becomes Spotify’s most streamed female artist of 2018 globally, thanks to her album Sweetener and her latest single “thank u, next,” which has amassed 220 million streams. She dethrones Rihanna, who claimed the title for the past three years.

Meanwhile, Cardi B was most streamed female artist in the United States, followed by Grande, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Halsey. Cardi’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, is also the fourth most streamed album of the year in the U.S.
