Cardi B Stars in Pepsi Christmas Commercial
It’s a Cardi Christmas.
The “Money” rapper is giving back in Pepsi’s new commercial “A Cardi Carol” to help promote “Gift it Forward with Pepsi,” the brand’s holiday campaign aimed at celebrating and encouraging the act of gifting cash.
The storybook clip starts out on a snowy Bronx night in 2002, when Cardi and her sister Hennessy waited up for Santa on Christmas Eve, but he didn’t bring her any gifts because she was on the naughty list. She makes a vow to gift people cash when she becomes older, regardless if they are naughty or nice.
The story then turns to present day, with Cardi in a white fur coat demanding that her manager bring her that Pepsi money. She then unlocks “Cardi’s Twerk Shop,” complete with the “North Pole,” where the elves are busy turning Pepsi cans into stacks of cash.
After loading up her Bentley sleigh, Cardi sips a Pepsi before taking off into the night. “Time to make it rain, dear,” she says.
Earlier this year, the Grammy winner starred in Pepsi’s Super Bowl commercial alongside Steve Carell and Lil Jon.
The 30-second television spot will debut on Thanksgiving Day. Watch the full commercial below.
