Ciara and Russell Wilson Donate One Million Meals to Food Bank

Ciara and Russell Wilson are giving back in midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

The superstar couple has donated one million meals to Seattle’s Food Lifeline, a local food bank that provides food to children, adults, and seniors facing hunger.

In a video message posted on Wednesday, they addressed the devastating effects of the COVID-19 virus. “Obviously this worldwide pandemic, coronavirus is changing the world second by second, minute by minute,” said the Seattle Seahawks quarterback. “People are losing loved ones. The elderly and the young, the people in between.”

They hope their generous donation will encourage others to donate to their local food banks. “We want to encourage everyone out there to join us in whatever way that you can, big or small. Everything that we do together makes a difference,” said Ciara.

Despite the uncertain times, they remain hopeful. “Together we will conquer this tough time we’re going through. We have faith. We want to encourage everyone else to keep the faith. Also practice social distancing and be blessed,” said Ciara, while Russell added, “We’re praying for you guys.”

The Feeding America network of food banks has established a COVID-19 Response Fund to help food banks across the country as they support communities impacted by the pandemic. To make a donation, visit feedingamerica.org.

In January, the couple announced that they are expecting their second child together. They share a 3-year-old daughter, Sienna Princess. Ciara is also mother to son Future Zahir, 5, from her previous relationship with Future.
