Joe Budden Questions 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj's Charitable Donation

  /  06.10.2020

Joe Budden is taking issue with 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj’s charitable efforts.

On Wednesday, Nicki officially announced their collaboration “Trollz” and revealed that a portion of proceeds from the song would benefit The Bail Project Inc., which provides free bail assistance to protesters amid the demonstrations following George Floyd’s murder.

Despite their good intentions, they faced criticism on social media from some including Budden, who made a shady comment about the vague amount of the donation. “‘A portion of the proceeds’ huh… lol,” tweeted the former Slaughterhouse rapper.

Someone responded, “They never tell us how much do they lol” before Budden added, “I hate it here lol.”

A video for “Trollz” has also been shot and will be released on Thursday at midnight. “PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS FROM TROLLZ WILL GO TO BAILING OUT PROTESTERS,” wrote 6ix9ine, who plans to go live at 11 p.m. EST prior to the video’s release.

In her post, Nicki explained why they decided to donate to The Bail Project. “We want to protect and support the thousands of brave people working on the front lines of social justice, using their voices to demand AN END to the targeting and killing of Black Americans by the police,” she wrote alongside the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag.

Budden has been critical of Nicki in the past. During an explosive episode of Queen Radio in August, she confronted the podcast host for calling her a liar and alleging that she had a drug problem. Their heated exchange ended with Nicki cutting off his mic, but she later appeared on an episode of his “Joe Budden Podcast.”
