Cardi B and Sister Sued Over 'Racist MAGA' Beach Fight

  /  09.22.2020

Cardi B and her sister are being sued for defamation for labeling a group of beachgoers as “racist MAGA supporters.”

Peter Caliendo, Pauline Caliendo, and Manuel Alarcon are suing the “WAP” rapper, her sister Hennessy Carolina, and Hennessy’s girlfriend, Michelle Diaz, claiming they defamed them by labeling them as racist during a fight on Sept. 6 at Smith Point Beach in Long Island.

In legal documents, obtained by TMZ, the plaintiffs claim that Hennessy approached them at the beach and started spitting, insulting, and threatening them because one of the men was wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat.

“These peaceful Suffolk County residents were quietly enjoying a Sunday at the Smith Point beach with their families, when rap celebrity Hennessy Carolina suddenly approached them, raging, spitting, insulting, assaulting, defaming and threatening them, all the while videotaping them because one of them wore a MAGA hat,” the plaintiffs’ attorney, John Ray, told ABC 7 New York.

Cardi tweeted a video of the altercation, in which she says her sister and her partner were harassed “all because they are a Afro/Hispanic gay couple.”

The group claims that Cardi and Hennessy defamed them by posting edited video and commentary about the altercation on social media to falsely paint them as racists.

According to Hennessy, the men targeted her and her girlfriend because they were “speaking Spanish” and were a “mixed couple.” She claims they were harassed and that someone in the group told them to go back to their country.

“You still came, two men, to us and yelled, ‘Get outta here. Go to your fu**ing country,'” Hennessy says in the audio clip. “They literally harassed us and it’s sad.”

Neither Cardi nor Hennessy have commented on the lawsuit.
