Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty Welcome First Child

Nicki Minaj is a mom.

The rapper and her husband Kenneth Petty welcomed their first child on Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to TMZ. Details including the baby’s name and gender have not been revealed and the new mom has yet to make an official announcement.

Back in July, the 37-year-old announced that she was pregnant, sharing a series of photos from her maternity shoot, photographed by David LaChapelle, including one depicting her as the Virgin Mary.

“Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes,” she wrote at the time.

Nicki has remained off social media for the past couple months. Her last post on Instagram was in August to promote her “Move Ya Hips” collaboration with A$AP Ferg.

Minaj, who married Petty last October, has been open about wanting to start a family. “I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything,” she said during a 2019 episode of Queen Radio.
