Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty

Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to two felony charges for his alleged assault of Rihanna on Monday.

A somber-looking Brown appeared with his lawyer Mark Geragos in a Los Angeles courtroom dressed in all black. The pop star entered a not guilty plea to his felony charges on assault and criminal threats.

The 19-year-old “Forever” singer was surrounded by security as he entered the courthouse with his mother. His arraignment lasted less than five minutes.

“My client recognizes that it’s not up to her to decide what type of deal she wants,” said Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra, in a press conference following the hearing. “She would be pleased if this were over quickly.”

Brown is due back in court on April 29. Rihanna is currently in Barbados with her family.
