The Boss was back on television for the first time since suffering two seizures last month. Rick Ross appeared on “106 & Park” to explain what caused his health scare, how he’s improving his lifestyle, and the first thing he did once he was released from the hospital.

While flying to shows in Memphis and Greensboro, the planes had to make emergency landings after the Miami rapper suffered two seizures. “I was going about my business. I boarded the flight and on the flight I had a seizure, and when I snapped out of it, they told me what had happened. I’m like, ‘You buggin’. Call a jet. We finna keep it movin’,” Rozay told hosts Rocsi and Terrence.

“Understand me growing up and hearing about seizures, they can be violent, you bust vessels, you bite your tongue, and in my case, it wasn’t none of that. I felt a little wore out, but I felt like I could keep going and that’s what it was. I boarded a jet and I had another seizure, and when I snapped out of that one, I woke up in front of a doctor. He actually said, ‘When was the last time you slept eight hours?’ And I said, ‘Man, it had to be at least five years.'”

The Maybach Music Group CEO attributes the seizures to his grueling work load and lack of sleep. “Being the fastest growing label in the game, wanting to be the number one label in the game, it comes with a lot of sacrifices. And in my case, it was sleep. I would get two hours of sleep and keep moving—me being a hustler, that has to stop. I was fortunate enough for the doctor to run a battery of tests on me from cancer, diabetes, HIV, etc., and I came back totally healthy. It was a case of me not getting enough rest, just not getting enough sleep. So you know I had to fix that.”

He has changed his schedule slightly since the incident, but don’t expect him to give up his hustling ways. “Since then, I just been relaxing, spending time with my family, my loved ones. Just taking it chill for a little while. So you know me being a boss, I won’t completely stop hustling. Against the doctor’s orders, as soon as I got home, I’m supposed to be on bed rest, but actually me and Jay-Z finished the biggest collaboration that we’ve ever done together for my album.”

While in the hospital, he received letters from his fans as well as Chuck D, Reggie Bush, and Birdman. “I do it for the fans, so I just want to thank ya’ll,” he said.

His rival 50 Cent reportedly also reached out to express his concern. “If it was genuine, I appreciate it,” said Rozay. “And if that’s the case, I thank you homie.”

Ross, who still plans to release his album God Forgives, I Don’t on December 13, shared what he learned after his close call. “It’s all about us taking care of ourselves,” he explained. “It makes no sense to become a multi-millionaire and not be here to enjoy it with your family and loved ones, so I’ma stay focused and I’ma make sure I do the right thing.”
