In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Big Sean gave back to his community by hosting his second annual turkey giveaway in Detroit on Tuesday. The “IDFWU” rapper and his non-profit organization, the Sean Anderson Foundation, handed out turkeys and canned goods to 1,000 individuals at the River Rouge High School Gymnasium.

It was a family affair as Sean and his parents shook hands, gave hugs, and helped put a smile on the faces of many folks.

“Love to everybody who came out to our annual Turkey Giveaway yesterday in Detroit!” said Sean. “Over a 1,000 turkeys n sides to families who needed it! Thanks to the mayor, @hiphopdetroit, Mike Epps, Terrence Wheeler, etc for coming together n making it huge! Happy Holidays!”

Like most of his peers, Sean was overcome with emotion after the non-indictment in Ferguson. “Watching this w/ my grandma, mom n brother. Can’t take my eyes off of it. So disappointing n sad… Deserved a public trial at least!” he said.

His third album is due next year and he can be seen performing “Best Mistake” with girlfriend Ariana Grande during “A Very Grammy Christmas,” which airs December 5 on CBS.
