/ 04.28.2015
A month after dropping his album I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside, Earl Sweatshirt has debuted a new project, Solace, dedicated to his mother, Cheryl Harris.
The Odd Future rapper describes the 10-minute collection as “music from when i hit the bottom and found something.” He raps about missing his grandmother and his loss of friends.

Earl spoke about Solace during an interview with NPR in March (via Billboard). “We set up a studio at my house and I did a little project real fast. It’s called Solace. … It’s more for my mom,” he said.
Earl’s mother became the target of online threats for sending her son to boarding school in Samoa until his 18th birthday.
