Chance the Rapper Welcomes Daughter

  /  09.22.2015

Chance the Rapper has just become Chance the Father. The Chicago MC has welcomed his first child, a baby girl. Chance posted a photo of his “parent” wristband on Instagram, and included a touching caption.

“I got to take my child home. Thank God, her mother, our families, the medical staff at Women’s Prentice and an amazing organization called The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago,” he wrote.

He went on to ask for privacy. “I love this time in my life, and I’ve learned to love better because of it. I wanted make a grandiose and poetic statement with her weight and size and DOB to show how much this means to me, but I think it’d be more appropriate and fatherly of me to just say thanks to those who helped us during this pregnancy, and ask for a little privacy in this time for me and my new family to get settled.”

In July, the 22-year-old let the world know that he was expecting a baby through an Instagram post, in which he placed his hand on his pregnant girlfriend’s stomach with the caption “Coming soon.”

Coming soon. 👪❤️

Chance has reportedly been dating the mother of his daughter since the release of Acid Rap back in 2013.

Next month, the new dad will hit the road on his “Family Matters” tour with special guests D.R.A.M., Metro Boomin, and Towkio.

Congratulations, Chance!
