Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran Perform 'Drunk in Love' at Global Citizen Festival

  /  09.27.2015

Music superstars including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Pearl Jam, and Beyoncé came together to call for an end to extreme poverty at the 2015 Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Saturday. During the multi-hour concert, which was broadcast live on MSNBC, Queen Bey took over the Great Lawn in Central Park to deliver a mesmerizing set of hits including “Crazy in Love,” “Single Ladies,” and “7/11.”

Ed Sheeran also appeared to duet on an acoustic version of “Drunk in Love.” “I want to bring out someone I respect so much,” said Bey while introducing the red-haired crooner.

With Ed on guitar, Bey belted out the lyrics over a stripped-down melody.

Beyoncé also introduced First Lady Michelle Obama: “Give it up for the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama,” she said before running over to give her a big hug.

“Let’s give it up for the amazing Beyoncé!” said the FLOTUS.

Later in the evening, Pearl Jam brought out Bey during the band’s set to perform “Redemption Song.” As Eddie Vedder played guitar, they dueted on Bob Marley and the Wailers’ classic.
