John Legend Performs 'Penthouse Floor' on 'Tonight Show'

  /  12.04.2016

John Legend took it to the “Penthouse Floor” on “The Tonight Show.”

Sporting a black, studded leather jacket, black shirt, and black pants, the R&B crooner was joined by The Roots, while addressing race and class amid purple lights.

“They float above the city lights,” sings Legend. “Forget the truth, inhale the lies / Just enjoy the show / They see us reaching for the sky / Just in order to survive / Maybe we should go / Go to the penthouse floor.”

Chance the Rapper, who’s featured on the track, couldn’t make it for the performance. Instead, John was supported by The Roots and backup singers.

“Penthouse Floor” is a single off Legend’s fifth studio album Darkness and Light, which dropped last week. The album features its lead single “Love Me Now” and the Miguel-assisted “Overload.”
